Pricing Overview - Basic Package

The basic price to commission a biography is $1,295.  That is a single biography, for one individual.  (Order here.)

That includes:

1. A background questionnaire.
2. At least 10 hours of telephone interviews.
3. Inclusion (and scanning) of up to 20 personal photographs (all images are modified to black and white [grayscale], unless otherwise specified, and sized to fit on an 8.5” x 11” page).  If you already have scanned images, up to 25 images will be included at no extra cost.
4. Reviews and approvals of drafts and final work.
5. One comb-bound copy of your biography.
6. One electronic copy of your biography (on CD, in Acrobat format).

Writing time varies, but the above includes the biographer’s time in reviewing and writing your biography (averaging 40 to 60 hours).

Not included are the shipping costs of returning your images and photographs to you.  That will be billed to you, at our cost, plus $2.00 handling.  If you would prefer, you may include a postage paid envelope (or stamps) to cover the shipping cost and avoid the handling fee.  The shipping/mailing cost for your one comb-bound copy is included in the basic price.

The above process, from start to finish, generally takes about three months, allowing for interviews, personal reflection and fact gathering (by the subject), writing, reviews of drafts, and final typesetting.

My Biographer produces narrative biographies.  This means that the final content of the book is what you tell us.  We do not do any research, fact-checking (except with the subject), or genealogy study.  If the subject already has genealogy charts, those may be included as a graphic image.
